Hello, I’m Dr. Sangkyung, an aesthetic physician based in Seoul, Korea.

This website is not simply about which aesthetic treatment is “best.”

I write about why skin and beauty look the way they do, how people throughout history understood the human body, and how modern medicine explains and treats those same concerns today.

Topics include:

• Skin-focused aesthetic medicine,

including lasers, radiofrequency, ultrasound-based treatments, lifting procedures, botulinum toxin, and skin boosters

• Common dermatologic conditions,

including acne, acne scars, urticaria, melasma, freckles, and other everyday skin concerns

• The history of medicine and dermatologic treatments, along with fascinating medical stories and lesser-known facts

• Cultural and scientific perspectives on beauty

Whenever possible, articles are based on peer-reviewed research, official sources and primary historical records.

I also try to distinguish established scientific evidence from clinical interpretation or personal opinion.
